Software & documentation for v1.1
Version 1.1 is based on the version 1.0 'DIP'. BOM and CPL provided do include all DIP sockets using the 'hand soldering' service from JLC. Here you only need solder a few parts yourself (see below), purchase the DIP chips and the SD card and place them on the board.
For easy replacement all chips placed at the 'corners' of GottFA80 are in DIP format.
Note: due to memory limitations v1.1 of GottFA80 is not compatible with the 'late' 80B games ( Hot Shots, Big House, Bad Girls, Bonebusters and Night Moves ).
Parts needed
In addition to the preassembled PCB you need the parts from the Reichelt shop cart and this FPGA board and an 'USB Blaster' for being able to program the FPGA.
For the ICs there are already sockets on the PCB, no soldering needed here.
The FPGA comes usually with unsoldered pins, so only soldering neededare the pins on the FPGA. ( do not forget the additional 2pin connection for powering the FPGAfrom GottFA80 PCB!)
Note: latest HW version is 1.13. v1.12 had a small problem with lamps 48...51 which can be corrected with a small HW modifikation. Send me a mail if you need more details.
Due to copyrigth on Gottlieb roms the SD card does not contain any rom code, but do provide the right struture for GottFA80. Have a look at the user manual to see how you can copy your rom images onto the Sd card.
how to order your GottFA80 PCB
